Basil Pasta with Tomato & Onion Soup

2010/01/04

basil pasta with fresh tomato and bacon

This is the first official meal Yoko and I delightfully devoured together as a couple – New Year’s Day meals don’t really count because their spent with her family and we usually have nothing to do with the meal except eat it.

With our meals, both of us help prep and cook it. I think it’s made us grow closer in our relationship. There’s something about sharing an experience with someone else. “To get the full value of joy you must have somebody to divide it with.” Mark Twain said that. I agree.

I’ve always enjoyed cooking meals, especially for other people. To me, there’s nothing more important than the well-being of people very close to me. What better way to care for people dear to me than to feed them well. Nothing says it better than serving them food pleasing to the eye, great tasting and good for the body. The better the company, the better the food.

This is very true when it comes to my relationship. I love my sweetie. She is a wonderful woman, making me laugh and smile more and more each time I see her. Our time together always flies by, and our meals are always, always delicious.
